We all gathered to celebrate, as clean water is so critical to successful public health measures in Haiti . The importance of such a system truly cannot be understated, and this feat was made possible thanks to USAID support through UNICEF.

The memories are so vivid and going through the pictures of that day, I realize even more how merciful God is. I think of the dreams and hopes I had. Very few of them came true, but many others unexpected, underserved and bigger happened! They’ve truly been 25 years of surprises, joys and sorrows, miracles and defeats, pleasant and unpleasant moments. I am grateful for each one and would not exclude any of them, particularly the bitter ones and those that have exposed my weaknesses, because they have actually been for me source of grace and mercy, of understanding and reorientation, conversion and realignment.

The Crowding of Calvary

The 6th Sunday of Lent, Palm Sunday, begins the Most Holy Week for Christians.

Just as the Holy Incarnation begins in the humility of a manger, the Saving Work of Jesus begins as he humbly mounts a donkey.

God decides the way of prophets, messengers and miracles is not working, and decides that in the new way, people can meet God directly in their hearts.

It sounds easy, but the briefest glance around the world shows this is not working well.
