His presentation
Vilnord Moise, 23 years old, from a family of 8 children born in the south in Camperin, an altar Boy of the Catholic Church.
His testimony.
"I was at a funeral at Sainte Famille Church in Camperin when the earthquake hit last August 14 in Haiti. Who would have thought? We were about fifty people who gathered to say goodbye to a young girl who had died. At 8:30 a.m. the earthquake passed and the church fell on us.
Nature decided not to let the girl go alone; twenty people did not even have time to go to the hospital and died. I was with the other fifteen people who were injured and who went to the hospital.
My older brother who was in the courtyard of the church immediately came to pull me out from under the rubble and take me to the hospital. All three of the hospitals we tried were full. There was no room, but in the end I found a place at the Cité Lumière hospital in the city of Les Cayes where I spent almost two weeks in suffering. My case required a specialist surgeon, and so I needed to be transferred to the St Luke hospital.
I was finally admitted there on August 26 and after 5 days I got my surgery. My family had no means to pay for this expensive surgery, but St Luke's Hospital took care of everything.
His recognition and determination.
Before, I did not feel hopeful, but now I thank God and thank the whole team at St Luke Hospital. Today, I am starting to recover, I feel better, and I have been discharged.
If I am living now, it is the will of God, which is why I feel more determined to serve Him. I take this opportunity to encourage all victims like me, those who are suffering in one way or another from the last earthquake. I wish you courage, strength and good recovery !!
Thank you to the entire St Luke hospital team, I am very grateful to you !!
