As we mourn this tremendous leader, we extend our condolences and sympathies to Raphaël's Family, as Raphaël was a father, a son, and brother, and friend to all the St Luke and NPH families.
Raphaël was truly the definition of the St Luke philosophy. He embodied compassion and empathy: always caring for his neighbor in all circumstances. A valuable collaborator, Raphaël was in the center of every St Luke initiative whether social, medical, educational, or advisory - leading by example.

We found the five of them under a Mango tree last night,
to which we had been lead by bandits after a release deal was cut by their families.
We were the "guarantors" that the ransom given by their families would achieve their freedom.
(This is, in fact, almost never the case, until multiple ransoms are paid).
The St Luke hospital CTC has never closed between January 2023 and the present moment. We received 500 patients suffering from acute dehydration due to cholera. Over the past weeks we have noticed a huge upsurge of Cholera cases at the St Luke Hospital. After the flood, from June 1st until June 10th we have already received 100 patients suffering from cholera. The suspected cases are referred to St Luke Hospital because many of the CTC established from the beginning of the pandemic are no longer functional. In fact, the number of cholera cases that we are receiving exceeds our capacity because our financial and materials are limited.
